A man who made lewd comments towards a woman, as seen in a viral video on social media, was arrested by police yesterday. The Chief of Police for the Port Dickson District, Superintendent Aidi Sham Mohamed, said that the 38-year-old man was arrested following a report by the victim, a woman, around 3:40 pm yesterday.

“The initial urine test result of the suspect is negative. The suspect has no previous criminal record and is now being held in the Port Dickson Police Station for further investigation,” he added. The police confirmed that they received a report from the victim and are investigating the case under Section 509 of the Penal Code and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955 for defamation of character and using indecent words in public.
The incident occurred around 6:30 pm in front of a building in Bandar Springhill. The police advise the public not to cause public disturbance by spreading the video and making comments that could disturb public peace. Any irresponsible act of spreading such content is an offense under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
