Borders Malaysia is considered to be one of the last few Borders brand stores still alive in the world. Their American sector closed all the way back in 2011, and it seems that after 12 years, their Malaysian counterpart is closing as well. It is the end of an era as physical books are being phased out for digital copies.

Netizens are stating that it is a common trend nowadays where newspapers and physical book publishers are shutting their doors. Furthermore, the convenience of online reading has relatively killed the print industry. They are calling this sad move inevitable.

Furthermore, others are stating that Borders Malaysia still does not have any sort of sale on their items. Others agreed and think that this is a legitimate question for them to ask. However, there are some outlets, like the one in Quill City Mall where they indeed have books for only RM5.
