Recently, a video gone viral on Facebook shows a woman in Kelantan dressing in a sexy dress walking down the street. The video has since gone viral as it seemingly appears that she is challenging PAS’ strict regime in the state. Furthermore, it seems that there are plenty of others that do the same thing but did not get viral.

Netizens commented on the Facebook post making sexist comments saying that she should be at home to cook for her husband. Others state that she is only brave enough to indulge herself in this behavior in the middle of the night. If it was done in broad daylight, she would probably get fined by the state.
According to the Kelantan State Syariah Criminal Code Act, regarding Section 5(1), engaging in indecent behavior may result in a fine of RM1,000 or imprisonment for six months. A hefty punishment for women to choose what she’d prefer to wear in public.
Regardless, it seems that the Kelantanese population are adamant in supporting this law. There were other lewd comments directed towards the woman as well.
