Three Penang hawkers have been recognized by the state government for offering affordable prices for their dishes. Mary, who sells wonton noodles, Ong Eng Kim, the owner of a chicken rice stall, and Abdul Shukor, a mamak stall owner, received awards for selling their food at RM4, RM3, and RM1.20, respectively.

Mary, 65, has been selling wonton noodles for over 30 years and had to increase the price from RM3 to RM4 due to rising ingredient costs. Hebat lah Penang Hawkers!

Despite this, she remains dedicated to serving the local community and maintaining a slim profit margin. The awards were presented by Yeoh Soon Hin, the state tourism and creative economy committee chairman.
