NEW MEASURES?
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is set to announce various measures tomorrow aimed at addressing the country’s economic situation, including measures to counter the ringgit downfall.
Ringgit Downfall
The announcement will take place during the launch of a program at the Securities Commission in the afternoon, according to Deputy Finance Minister Ahmad Maslan.
The third phase of the Rahmah cash aid, involving 8.4 million recipients and an allocation of RM2.14 billion, will also be disbursed before the Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration. The aid will benefit households, senior citizens without partners, and singles.
Cash Handouts
Ahmad emphasized that the cash aid provided by the unity government is the largest in history compared to previous administrations.
Furthermore, BSN (Bank Simpanan Nasional) is allocating RM900 million for the Kasih-Belia Micro Scheme and other micro schemes for small traders and women, with financing opportunities ranging from RM5,000 to RM50,000.
To date, RM1.6 billion has been distributed to 72,000 beneficiaries under the micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) financing scheme since 2020.
