Wee emphasized the importance of features such as anti-lock braking system (ABS) and electronic stability control (ESC) for driver and passenger safety, citing studies that showed their effectiveness in preventing accidents.

He urged the carmaker to reconsider the omission of these safety features and cautioned against setting a precedent for future “ultra low-cost” vehicles where even basic safety measures could be excluded.
