Christian Dior, a luxury French brand that is typically not one that sparks controversies like Balenciaga’s advertising campaign or Chanel’s massive price increases and alleged quality decline. However, they recently got themselves into hot waters after rumors of them being interested in enlisting the controversial Meghan Markle to be the face of their brand.
Meghan Markle as the face of Dior?
Currently, Dior customers are calling to boycott the brand as they refuse to have them support anyone as problematic as Meghan Markle. This is due to her past of making claims against the British Royal Family, and along with her husband, Prince Harry writing an ever so controversial book about his galavanting days.
Others state that the luxury brand will be “destroyed” if they are actually thinking of letting her on, just like how she destroys everything she touches. This is an alleged claim by a Twitter user, which is not sourced based on factual evidence. There are users who also find it hard to believe that any brand would pour in their money towards problematic celebrities.
