Around 26,000 homeowners in Kuala Lumpur will receive a 25% discount on their assessment tax starting from the second term of this year, according to Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, the Prime Minister.
Tax Deductions
The initiative applies to affordable housing completed after 2014, benefiting 25,677 homeowners under various affordable housing programs in Kuala Lumpur, including the Malaysia Civil Servants Housing Programme (PPAM), Rumawip, Prima, and Residensi Wilayah.

Anwar stated that the decision to reduce the assessment tax was made in response to people’s concerns. The discount will be in effect from July to December, and it is estimated to reduce Kuala Lumpur City Hall’s revenue by RM2.067 million.
