A commercial bank’s attempt to challenge the Industrial Court’s award of over RM471,840.60 to its former senior manager in an unfair dismissal case has been dismissed by a civil court in Ipoh.
BIG AWARD
The High Court ruled in favor of respondent Abd Razak Mohd Kassim, stating that there was no reason to disturb the Industrial Court’s award. The bank was ordered to pay RM7,000 in costs to Razak. A relief to the ex-bank manager.
Ex-bank MANAGER
The Industrial Court had previously ruled that the bank failed to prove that Razak’s termination was justified. The case involved allegations of misconduct, including disbursing loans without due diligence and approving fraudulent documents.
