PAS continues to maintain ambiguity regarding the inclusion of Nik Mohammad Abdul Nik Abdul Aziz as a candidate in the upcoming state election (PRN) or his potential sidelining once again. PAS President Abdul Hadi Awang stated that the confirmation will only be revealed on the day of candidate nomination.
Nik Abdul Aziz son to be PAS’ candidate for state election?
During a press conference in Kota Bharu, Abdul Hadi expressed that people should wait for the nomination day to see if his name will appear, hinting at possible surprises. The issue arises due to claims suggesting PAS’s intention to diminish the legacy of Nik Aziz within the party. In the previous general election, Nik Abduh was omitted as a candidate after serving two terms as a PAS representative.
When questioned about former UMNO leaders becoming PN candidates, Abdul Hadi confirmed their potential inclusion while refraining from disclosing specific names, citing concerns of hijacking and other complications during these uncertain times.
