The Penang State Legislative Assembly (DUN) is set to be dissolved tomorrow in preparation for the State General Election (PRN). Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow announced that the proposed date has been approved by Penang State Governor Tun Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak.

The decision to dissolve the DUN comes after seeking consent from the Governor to proceed with the necessary formalities. Chow expressed relief that the process has reached its conclusion, enabling them to focus on preparing for the upcoming state election.
The specific date for the PRN will be determined by the Election Commission (SPR) once all states have dissolved their respective assemblies. Prior to the dissolution, the seat distribution stood at 33 seats for PH, two for BN, four for Bersatu, and one for PAS.
