A woman has suffered a severe leg injury at Bangkok’s Don Mueang Airport when her lower left leg was reportedly “sucked by a moving walkway.”

Travelator Accident

The incident occurred on June 29, around 8:40 am. It is believed that the passenger fell down after being struck by a piece of luggage, causing her leg to become trapped in the travelator. The leg was severed above the knee, according to Thai media sources.

Woman at Bhumibol

The woman has been transported to Bhumibol Adulyadej Hospital for medical treatment. Investigations are underway using closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage, and the use of the travelator has been temporarily suspended for further examination by the airport’s engineering team. A man in Shanghai also lost his leg in a similar accident in 2015.
