The CEO of the best airline in 2023, Qatar Airways states that first class is pointless. He states that business class is “luxurious” enough for most of the passengers aboard. The amenities that first class offers are not as relevant as they used to be, so he claims. Their newer long haul aircrafts will no longer have a dedicated first class.

TikTokers are joking that business class is relatively the new first class, and premium economy is the new business class. It seems to be that this will be the new direction airlines will choose to configure their cabin layouts. Furthermore, Qatar Airways’ CEO states that first class seats do not give as much returns as business class seats.
Others state that if passengers are able to afford first class, they might as well opt to fly in a private jet. This is due to the fact that the prices of flying in a private jet can be nearly similar to a commercial airline’s first class.
