Malaysians are tired of the lack of parking spaces available to them everywhere. Recently, Proton released a new hatchback Saga and the plethora of complaints suddenly came about. Netizens state that with the abundance of hatchbacks that are even more affordable than their sedan counterparts is only going to contribute to this issue further.
Netizens complaining about the potential of Proton’s new hatchback
However, more rational Twitter users are stating that as long as our public transportation system is inefficient for the majority of the country, car manufacturers like Proton will release products like these. We are a car centric country after all, added the netizen. This is an important point as Malaysians still need a mode of transportation regardless of what it may be.
In addition to this, netizens are dreaming of Kuala Lumpur as a walkable city. However, this can only be a dream. Some are showing photos of cars parking on the sidewalk, as there aren’t enough parking facilities for both cars and motorcycles.
However, it appears that the photo shown on Twitter is a concept released by a local designer in 2017. Whether if Proton is actually releasing the product, we are unable to confirm it.
