Passengers experiencing weather-related flight delays received relief on Saturday, despite concerns over potential disruptions caused by new wireless 5G systems near major airports.

5G Worries

Flight cancellations and delays declined compared to earlier in the week, with 850 cancellations and over 28,000 delayed flights recorded as of 10 p.m. EST. During June 28-30, an average of 1,751 flights were canceled and more than 32,600 were delayed.

Lesser FLIGHT Disruptions

The cancellation rate in the U.S. was around 1% on Saturday, with potential weather-related issues expected later in the day on the East Coast. Concerns about 5G interference with aircraft equipment did not materialize, as airlines were given extra time for upgrades.
