On Sunday, July 2, 2023, in the town of L’Hay-les-Roses, south of Paris12. The mayor of the town, Vincent Jeanbrun, said that rioters had rammed a car into his home before setting it on fire.
Attempted Murder?
His wife and one of his children were injured in the attack, which he called an assassination attempt. He was not at home at the time, but working at his office. This has prompted the interior minister Gérald Darmanin, to launch an attempted murder investigation against the perpetrators.
Car Rammed
The attack was part of the ongoing unrest in France following the police murder of a 17-year-old boy, Nahel Merzouk, of Algerian and Moroccan descent in Nanterre on Tuesday12. From the killing of an innocent youth, to the car rammed into a mayor’s home, France is descending into a bigger chaos.
