The massive price increases Chanel and Dior are currently engaging themselves in are proving to show that they have priced out one of the dominant forces in the fashion industry, Hermes. Obviously, Hermes’ classic items like the Kelly and Birkin are substantially more expensive than most brands, but it seems that their seasonal bags may be more affordable.

Luxury YouTuber, Sophie Shohet states that Chanel and Dior have items that are more expensive. Typically, Hermes would offer better quality for their products in comparison to most designer brands out there. Furthermore, their after care services are significantly better as well.
The Hermes Her Bag can cost anywhere from RM12,000 and up, which is significantly cheaper than the Chanel seasonal bags available, which start from RM20,000 and above. Others are stating that they plan to focus more on the non-classic Hermes items rather than spending more on other brands.
However, there are those stating that these luxury brands are constantly increasing their prices, yet luxury enthusiasts are still buying them in droves. This would then justify these brands to up their prices further as their customers are still buying from them.
