42,000 students Set to Receive New Preliminary Loan Grant From PTPTN

A total of 42,946 diploma students in public higher education institutions (IPTA) for the July 2023 session will receive a Preliminary Loan Grant (WPP) of RM1,500, according to the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN).

The RM64.42 million allocation aims to assist students with initial preparation expenses. The 42,000 students can check their WPP offers through the PTPTN portal and redeem the grant at Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad counters starting from July 18.

The WPP is given to Malaysian students who have consented to receive it and meet specific criteria. Since its introduction in 1999, 969,046 students have benefited from the WPP, totaling RM1.43 billion in allocations, Bernama reports.
