Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim asserts that the upcoming elections in six states will mark a crucial turning point in saving the country. THe six states are Selangor, Penang and Negeri Sembilan – controlled by PH-BN and Kelantan, Terengganu and Kedah which are under PAS-PN.
Anwar also emphasizes that efforts to eliminate hardcore poverty will be all-encompassing, without singling out any particular race. Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, the PAS and PN leaders are against Anwar on these lines.
Crucial Test
On the other hand, Anwar reminds leaders of the unity government to collaborate as a team and foster collective strength. He urges Malaysians to avoid sentiments and propaganda that can potentially harm the nation. The elections are a crucial test for Malaysia as a multi-racial country, he says.
