Kedah MB Sanusi Md Nor accused the government of banning his TikTok account. Some PN supporters too are claiming their TikTok accounts were banned or they lost their contents. However, Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail says the gov’t has no power to ban people’s TikTok.

This comes as Kedah caretaker menteri besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor said Malaysia was becoming like North Korea. He did not take it well that his TikTok had disappeared. He created a new one.

Home ministry?

“Who does TikTok belong to? Bytedance Ltd which is a technology firm from China. “For TikTok users, it is the same as any other social media platform, which is subjected to restrictions of what can or cannot be allowed. Does the government have the power to ban TikTok accounts? The answer is no,” Saifuddin said on Facebook today.
