A Malaysian diner was left astounded by the meager serving of button mushrooms she received at a hotpot restaurant. Her cousin, Syl, shared the encounter on the Chinese social media platform Xiaohongshu, highlighting the disparity between the advertised and actual portion sizes.
While the restaurant received positive reviews for its service and soup base, the quantity of food was severely lacking. The plate of five button mushrooms, served as 10 halves, cost RM8.50 (S$2.50). Syl speculated that the dish may not be ordered frequently, explaining the small portion.

Surprisingly, despite the incident, the restaurant maintained a high review rating of 4.9 stars. Another Xiaohongshu user shared a similar experience with small portions at a different outlet, including lotus root and cheese hotdogs.
