The ever so popular Japanese fuel consumption car brands in Malaysia are running for their money as there are speculations that Tesla cars are starting below their higher end cars. It appears that Twitter users are discussing the price differences as they seem to have at least an RM20,000 price gap.
Tesla vs Toyota Camry
Popular Twitter user Abudi Alsagoff states that the Tesla Model Y is RM199,000 while the Toyota Camry is RM219,000. Furthermore, many are speculating that this could potentially help the brand catapult to being the more popular option. This is due to the fact that it is a new car that was previously more expensive than retail in this country.
However, there are Twitter users who doubt the reliability of Elon Musk’s cars. They state that Toyotas hold their resale values quite well, and would be durable work horses for the next few decades. Other than that, netizens state that they do not want to rely completely on an EV vehicle as traveling to the rural parts of Malaysia will definitely be tedious due to the lack of facilities.
