Offences against the Royal Institution must be taken seriously if not all the royals will be the target of slander. This was said by Inspector General of Police, Razarudin Husain yesterday.

He adds that the case facing the Kedah caretaker MB, Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor, is different compared to other leaders because it involves royalties. The Sanusi case involved the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.
The cases regarding Bagan MP Lim Guan Eng and Hadi Awang do not involve the royals, he says. But the police are handing the investigation papers to the AG.
