Times have changed, especially when in today’s world we have school children actually suing their teacher for skipping classes. Furthermore, back in the day, this would’ve been the complete opposite, and a court case would not be involved. However, netizens are expressing their sympathies towards the students.

Netizens are calling the teacher out for behaving as such. Judge Leonard David Shim of the High Court ruled in favor of the three former school students, Rusiah Sabdarin, Nur Natasha Allisya Hamali, and Calvina Angayung, aged 22, from SMK Taun Gusi in Kota Belud. They successfully proved their case based on the balance of probabilities.
Some users claim that others would be happy if their teachers were absent in class. However, the severity of this situation is still understated. The teacher was absent for 7 months, and the students lost almost an entire year’s worth of syllabus for their important exams. In the end, the students received RM50,000 each.
