Manchester United’s interest in Harry Kane could be revived after Tottenham’s chairman, Daniel Levy, was informed by the club’s majority owner, Joe Lewis, that Kane cannot be allowed to run down his contract and leave for free next year.

Kane, who turns 30 on Friday, has entered the final year of his Spurs deal, attracting interest from top clubs like Bayern Munich. Levy has made it clear that Kane is not for sale and offered him a substantial new contract.
However, if the contract isn’t signed, Lewis has indicated that Kane must be sold this summer, possibly for up to £100m. Manchester United, initially hesitant due to Levy’s demands, might reconsider making a move, but Kane’s high salary demands remain a potential hurdle.
Meanwhile, United is also considering Atalanta’s Rasmus Højlund as a target. Tom Heaton believes Andre Onana’s £44.1m move from Internazionale could revolutionize United’s play from the back.
