Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has expressed his loyalty and support for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. He also said he never asked Anwar to drop the charges against him. There have been rumours this month of a rift between Anwar and Zahid but the latter was away to undergo an eye operation, instead.
No Betraying
He said he would not betray Anwar and will work with Anwar to achieve the country’s vision and mission. He also commended Anwar’s performance and policies, especially in tackling poverty and inequality. He made the remarks at a rural care event in Gua Musang, Kelantan, on July 24, 2023. He urged the people to trust Anwar’s leadership and give him a strong mandate in the upcoming state election.
