The Michelin star guide was founded in France over 120 years ago. They have since given a number of well performing restaurants the stars. This means that these restaurants or stalls are internationally recognized for their craft. However, there are only a few restaurants in Malaysia that have received these ratings.
Michelin star craze
Recently, a Thai stall went viral after showcasing that it was a Michelin star stall. However, netizens are begging to know when will a local pisang goreng stall ever receive that. Others respond that this will need dedication and a high level of cleanliness, to which many in Malaysia may lack.
Netizens also claim that the Thai stall is quite professional when it comes to their ingredients. They do not skimp or reuse certain ingredients like oil. Regardless, hopefully, there will be a stall in Malaysia that will receive that status. Our neighbors, Thailand and Singapore, have already received them for their stalls.
