Chelsea have reached a preliminary agreement to sign Brighton goalkeeper Robert Sánchez for a potential fee of £25m. The Spain international is set to undergo a medical as Chelsea seek to strengthen their goalkeeping options and provide competition for Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Chelsea’s signing
Negotiations have been swift, with the deal expected to cost £20m upfront and an additional £5m in add-ons. The team is also in talks with Brighton over the potential signing of midfielder Moisés Caicedo, but the asking price of £100m has proven challenging.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino is eager to bolster the midfield before the season’s start, considering the limited depth and experience in that area. Additionally, Chelsea is looking to offload players like Lukaku, Ziyech, and Hudson-Odoi, with Juventus expressing interest in Lukaku.
