A woman alleges losing RM118,767.49 due to an online scheme that promised high-paying part-time work, enticing victims with substantial salaries. Pahang’s Chief of Police, Yahaya Othman, revealed that the 22-year-old victim engaged with a woman she knew via Instagram, who presented her with a job on July 23rd.

The suspect instructed the victim to complete a task for payment, providing a contact number for verification upon completion. The victim received RM47 for two tasks before being instructed to make upfront payments, leading to money transfers.
Upon realizing her losses, the victim reported the incident. Othman advised caution with online job offers, suggesting background checks on companies, and verifying received account details to avoid scams.
