The world of luxury fashion like Gucci, Christian Dior, Chanel are all facing troubled waters ahead of them as individuals of all classes are reducing their purchases with these brands. Initially, these brands were allegedly weeding out the lower income group to purchase from them, but unfortunately it is turning against them now.
Luxury fashion headed to a recession
A Luxury fashion TikToker and influencer, Sajjad Hus states that “finance bros” and fashion do not go well together. He states that maximizing profits solely on the “vibe” of the brand does not cut it anymore. This is especially true when superfakes are more or less the same quality or even better quality when in comparison to some of these houses.
Furthermore, brands like Gucci have severely increased their prices to astronomical levels. They are releasing new pouches, not bags, and are selling them for RM6,000+. Ironically, even Louis Vuitton are selling them for half the price of what Gucci is selling them for.
