Berjaya Corporation founder Tan Sri Vincent Tan has obtained a temporary restraining order against Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor in a defamation suit. The court granted the order, effective until August 25, after Tan claimed Sanusi made defamatory remarks during a campaign speech.

Tan and Berjaya Land Berhad sought a public apology and RM200 million in compensation over Sanusi’s alleged false statements about them in relation to the Selangor Maritime Gateway project. Tan and Berjaya Land have categorically denied the allegations and are seeking damages, an injunction, and a halt to any further defamatory comments.
