While such policies are unpopular among his opponents who are preaching pro-Malay for Malaysia policies, PM Anwar believes affirmative action policies should not be race-based. This may further erode the confidence of the Malay population towards Anwar but it will however consolidate the support he has among non-Malays and the significant populations in urban areas who are also Malays. This is to foster better #relations in the country.
