Typically, Malaysians are very particular when it comes to food. We love our food very much. Food critics here are even more particular than the average consumers. However, it appears a TikTok food critic, Jason, received a response video from a cheese tart stall he reviewed earlier. Netizens found the response towards him was rude and dismissive.
Jason receiving support from netizens
This is the video where Jason responded to the stall owner again for his remarks. He agrees with the stall owner that each individual has their own specific taste. However, the way the owner delivered it could have been done better. Netizens agreed with this sentiment as they feel customers have the right to comment on the food they purchase.
Netizens state that some owners have the right to defend themselves, but sometimes it might offend their existing or potential customers. Others felt that the owner was rude and that is refraining them from trying their products.
Regardless, we are in the age of social media, and it will not be uncommon to see incidents like this from happening again. Bad press is still attention directed to the business nevertheless.
