The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Cradle Fund, Nazrin Hassan, who was found dead in his home five years ago, was allegedly intending to divorce Samirah Muzaffar before the incident. The statement was made by the prosecution at the Court of Appeal, to appeal the High Court’s decision that acquitted Samirah and two teenagers of the charge of murdering the CEO.

Deputy Public Prosecutor, Datuk Yusaini Amer Abdul Karim, said the CEO’s best friend, Eliza Elias, was told about the couple’s marriage problems and the wishes of the CEO. “The CEO had financial problems and there was a fight between the couple,” he argued to a three-judge panel chaired by Datuk Vazeer Alam Mydin Meera who sat together with Datuk Ahmad Zaidi Ibrahim and Datuk Azhahari Kamal Ramli.
