The Menteri Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Aminuddin Harun says dogs must be neutered before owners can apply for ownership licenses. This measure aims to control the increasing population of strays in the state. The decision was reached after discussions with the state exco and is in line with similar precautions taken by other state governments.
Neuter Dogs – NGOs Agree
The new requirement will be communicated to local authorities for implementation. Aminuddin emphasizes responsible ownership to prevent the abandonment of dogs, which contributes to the rising number of strays, disrupting residents’ peace and comfort. Animal welfare NGOs have supported this requirement as they struggle to cope with the high number of stray dogs in the state.
