Another Hawker dies after falling face first into wok of boiling oil Now

A Malaysian hawker, Liu Youcai, tragically passed away after fainting and falling into a boiling oil wok in a food court in Kuala Kangsar town in September. This is the second time a person died after a similar incident. Liu, aged 58, sustained severe burns on his face, chest, and back during the incident. Despite immediate assistance from locals who rushed him to a nearby hospital, he succumbed to his injuries. He was known for serving affordable chicken chop and rice at £1.73 per plate.

A 74-year-old fried banana seller in Penang died in 2022 after similarly fainting and falling into a wok full of boiling oil. The woman, identified as Zhong Bixuan, suffered severe burn injuries and later succumbed at the hospital.
