Manchester United paying respects to Sir Bobby Charlton
Previously, the team paid respects before their win at Sheffield United following Charlton’s passing at age 86. Their women’s team also observed a minute’s silence, donning black armbands at Everton. Fans left tributes at the Charlton, Best, and Law statue outside Old Trafford. The club provided a condolence book for fans to leave messages in person and online.
Charlton’s remarkable career included 758 games, 249 goals, a European Cup, three league titles, and the FA Cup. He also played a pivotal role in England’s 1966 World Cup victory, despite being diagnosed with dementia in 2020. His family expressed gratitude for the support he received.
