Social media is buzzing with a false claim that Dior dropped Bella Hadid due to her comments on the Israel-Hamas conflict. The truth: Hadid’s contract with Dior ended in March 2022, unrelated to the conflict. The brand’s 2023 holiday campaign features Israeli model May Tager, who also appeared in the 2022 version.

Bella Hadid’s contract with Dior ended in early 2022

Hadid, a vocal supporter of Palestinians, left Dior for commercial reasons and was replaced by various models. Despite this, thousands of Malaysians are running this misinformation that Bella Hadid was replaced with an Israeli model. Calls to boycott the luxury house have been in place, but their hefty price tags have always limited customers to purchase their products.

Regardless of the countless sources informing the truth of the situation, it seems that it’s too late for the brand. On the bright side, it seems that the luxury fashion house did the very best they could to stay neutral in this situation where they hired models from both sides of the conflict.
