New: Voting Ends in Kemaman by-elections

The Kemaman parliamentary by-election, held today, involved 49 polling centers with 244 streams. The voting, which took place from 8 am to 6 pm, reported a 60% turnout as of 4 pm among the 141,043 registered voters. Ballot boxes from all centers will be transported to the vote-tallying center at Dewan Berlian Utama, Kemaman Municipal Council, with official results expected by 9 pm tonight.

Voting Ends

Earlier, 387 policemen and six military personnel voted through postal ballots on Nov 28 due to flood-related duties. The by-election featured a straight contest between Barisan Nasional’s Gen (Rtd) Tan Sri Raja Mohamed Affandi and PAS’s Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar.
