In the last two months, many went on to boycott large American chain restaurants in lieu of the Middle Eastern conflict. However, some feel that the boycott trend is fading in Malaysia and they’re asking whether this is a fad or are people truly passionate with their boycotts?
Are people still boycotting McDonalds?
However, many still claim to be boycotting McDonalds, as a user states that he is now 100% a customer of MaryBrown, a popular Malaysian restaurant. It seems that the local companies are benefiting immensely from the widespread boycotts. At the end of the day, this still falls under the consumer’s choice.
Others state that these restaurants have declined in quality severely, this is an alleged claim of course. This is also coupled with the fact that the price increases towards these supposedly “affordable” restaurants has caught many Malaysians off guard, and they would rather spend their money at better restaurants for the same price.
