The Kuala Lumpur High Court has ruled that the government and the police must pay RM14,000 in legal costs to M Indira Gandhi for their unsuccessful attempt to nullify her lawsuit seeking the recovery of her daughter, Prasana Diksa.

Judge Raja Ahmad Mohzanuddin Shah dismissed the application, citing a lack of merit and no special circumstances. Indira’s lawsuit, filed in 2020, alleges the authorities’ failure to locate her ex-husband, who had taken Prasana in 2009 after converting to Islam. The court had previously ordered the authorities to retrieve Prasana in 2014 and instructed the IGP to arrest the ex-husband in 2016.
