The debate of the importance of Bahasa Malaysia (BM) has been a debate that is continuously ongoing. Furthermore, it seems a good portion of X users are supporting KDN minister, Saifuddin Nasution saying that our national language is something important for Malaysians to at least understand.

The users that agree with Saifuddin’s remarks feel that those who refuse to learn BM would look down on those who speak the language. However, in reality, it is our national language and it should not be something to frown upon.
Others are arguing in the replies with each other stating that individuals born in Japan or China would be required to speak the language. The same is not reflected in Malaysia. However, some users state that Malaysia is different from these countries, hence different comparisons should apply.
