New: Deceptive Tactics in Kelantan Flood Shelters to Claim RM3400 Flood Relief

Residents in Kelantan are accused of deceiving authorities by relocating to temporary flood shelters (PPS) solely to obtain flood assistance, even if their homes are not affected. Some reportedly called their out-of-town children to return home and move to PPS to ‘claim’ the RM3,500 government aid per family.

Irresponsible actions have led to overcrowded PPS registrations in Pasir Mas, affecting genuine flood victims. Some individuals are believed to use various tactics, like registering only to receive food coupons without staying in PPS. Authorities are now conducting midnight checks to ensure only genuine flood victims are accommodated.
