According to a report by MSN Health, the AstraZeneca vaccine has been linked to a spike in cases of a rare disease called Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP), which can cause paralysis in some victims. The report further states that the risk of developing ITP after receiving the vaccine is extremely small and that the benefits of getting vaccinated still outweigh the risks.

AstraZeneca and Paralysis?
A Scottish study analyzing data from 2.53 million people who received the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine found a small increase in cases of immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) – approximately 1.13 cases per 100,000 doses.
Patients with post-vaccination ITP tended to be older and have clinical risk factors. The study also suggested a slight rise in other arterial blood clot and bleeding events within 27 days after vaccination.
However, there was inconclusive evidence regarding a link to cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST). No deaths were attributed to ITP in the analysis.
