A group in Gujarat, India, ran a fraudulent toll plaza for over a year, misleading drivers and collecting illicit tolls. Erected on private land in Morbi district, it illegally gathered over 750 million rupees from road users, prompting authorities to investigate and file complaints after the deception was uncovered.
Fake Plaza toll collected RM41 million
A viral TikTok showed a screenshot of a news article saying that these fake collection booths collected RM41 million over the last year. Commenters were shocked at the situation citing that the government in that district should’ve done something sooner.
Others are questioning the situation citing that if this illegal booth is able to make millions in a year, what about the legal ones all over the world? Some netizens state that governments everywhere must be making a lot from these booths.
