Despite higher enrollment in tertiary education, women face a stark decline in wages, with the estimated annual salary at RM42,080 for women and RM63,117 for men in 2022. The overall Malaysian Gender Gap Index for 2022 is 0.694, ranking the country 93rd among 146 nations. The report highlights the growing gender-based disparities, emphasizing the need for redressal.
