The legal action stems from Siti Mastura’s speech during the Kemaman by-election campaign, where she allegedly made defamatory remarks connecting the plaintiffs to the defunct Communist Party of Malaya and leader Chin Peng. The court directed replies to be filed by Jan 26, scheduling further case management for Feb 9, 2024. The plaintiffs seek damages and an injunction against further publication of the statements.
