DBKL Now Issues Fines for Unpermitted Foreign Worker Hiring in Kuala Lumpur

The Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) issued penalties to local businesses on Jalan Mega Mendung for hiring foreign workers without permits, aiming to curb the ongoing issue. Foreign workers lacking permits have exacerbated the situation.

The crackdown, under the Food Establishment Small Trading (WPKL) 2016 (1)(b) Law, resulted in two fines for one premise. The city council stressed the need for all employers to comply with regulations when hiring foreign workers, urging against unjustly providing licenses to foreigners.
