Apparently, a customer at a local restaurant was shocked to see that a “sotong” is RM50. For the most part, seafood is rather expensive, but for a simple squid, it should not cost as much. Furthermore, an X user asked if the restaurant’s squid was made out of gold, hence the RM50 price tag.

However, X users state that it is important for consumers to ask these local restaurants the price before ordering such items. A lot of times, customers are not aware of the pricing of these items and they end up ordering as much as they feel like.
Netizens are advising restaurant owners to not offer certain dishes if they know customers will start complaining. They should offer dishes according to the budget of their clientele, if it were an upscale proper restaurant, the prices would not matter. However, if you’re a stall on the side of the road, the pricing will matter a lot more.
