McDonalds has received one of the biggest backlash by Malaysians in 2023 by being boycotted. This is in lieu of the conflict that is happening in the Middle East. However, there are some who defend the company stating that they need to strive in order to generate profits.

McDonalds changing targeted ads

An X user found McDonalds to be sly in trying to specifically target the Chinese speaking community in Malaysia. The user observed that the company has not used anything else other than English since January this year. However, users state that the company is simply trying to recoup their losses, just like any other businesses would.

Others say that netizens need to consider the workers as most of them are Malays. For the most part, those working for them are simply trying to make end’s meet. Regardless, it seems that the boycotts are still strong.
